The Category Leader is the highest authority within the purchasing department for a specific category. This role focuses on developing and overseeing the long-term strategy for the category, ensuring it aligns with the overall business objectives.
We are looking for an Analytical Instruments Category Lead, who will give support to Diagnostic division (instruments and reagents)
What your responsibilities will be
- Develop long-term strategic plans for the category.
- Ensure alignment of category strategy with business goals.
- Manage relationships with key suppliers.
- Identify and capitalize on opportunities for improvement and efficiency.
- Monitor market trends and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Lead and mentor the category management team.
- Develop and manage category budgets.
- Coordinate with other departments to integrate category strategies.
Main Tasks
- Strategy Development: Formulate and implement category strategies.
- Supplier Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
- Market Analysis: Analyze market trends to inform strategic decisions.
- Performance Monitoring: Track category performance against KPIs.
- Report Generation: Prepare detailed reports on category performance for senior management.
- Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and develop contingency plans.
- Training: Conduct training sessions for team members on best practices and new strategies.
Who you are

- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in category management or procurement.
- Strong leadership and strategic planning skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to analyze data and market trends.
- Proficiency in procurement software and reporting tools.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Flexibility for U Program: Hybrid Model
