Mission
The IT Global Category Manager leads the strategic sourcing and category management of assigned tower of Grifols´s global IT for IT categories. This role drives value creation, improvements, and risk mitigation across all IT categories by enabling strong supplier relationship management, ensuring robust contract and governance frameworks, and collaborating closely with internal stakeholders to deliver operational excellence and transformation the organization.
What your responsibilities will be
Category Strategy and sourcing operations
· Create, implement and execute a multi-year global IT category strategy (global and regional) across software (SaaS/cloud/on-premise), hardware, infrastructure/telecoms, and IT services.
· Lead competitive sourcing events (RFx), complex negotiations, and contract structuring, underpinned by market intelligence, spend analysis, and TCO modelling.
· Proactive management of contract renewals and change requests
· Review major contracts for key areas of spend and act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) resource for planning and leading complex negotiations or re-supply modeling. Create procurement playbook as it relates to cyclical spending.
Stakeholder & Business Partnering
· Act as procurement business partner with IT leadership aligning IT and Category strategy.
· Collaborate and partner with partner groups like Finance, Legal, InfoSec, Data Privacy, etc., to execute sourcing operations and priorities
· Develop, Participate and manage, budget, demand and transformation planning with IT stakeholders.
· Leads Procurement function in a manner that maximizes contribution to the achievement of business objectives, profitability and return on investment
· Works as a strategic business partner to develop and prioritize procurement change programs and projects to enable delivery of the short- and long-term objectives
· Coaches team in the use of sophisticated commercial models, reports and forecasts to challenge and strengthen decision making processes across the business area
· Optimizes key relationships across GRIFOLS to take full advantage of efficiencies and leverage best practice
· Networks externally to ensure remains abreast of current world class thinking
· Works in partnership with the business and Procurement colleagues to ensure that an environment of continued professional development is created, and individual and team performance is managed effectively
· Coaches, performance manages and identifies development opportunities for indirect reports, ensuring appropriate succession planning and creation of a strong development culture
Supplier & Risk Management
· Build, implement and execute strategic supplier management governance.
· Supplier performance governance across IT and procurement KPIs
· Manage supplier risk, including financial, cybersecurity, GDPR compliance, and geopolitical exposure, and contractual.
Tools & Process Excellence
· Drive adoption of procurement tools, processes, AI and advanced analytics
· Manage and support compliance of P2P, Procurement CoE and procurement policy
· Lead research and analytics efforts to both validate savings projections and enable more precise supplier negotiations
Sustainable Sourcing
· Lead Global ESG initiative within the scope assigned

Education, Skills & Competencies
• Master’s degree, Professional Business Qualification and extensive and significant track-record in senior strategic Procurement
• Procurement certification (CIPS, CPSM) is a plus.
• Full professional proficiency in English and Spanish required.
• Has the mindset and behaviors that are aligned to working in a global pharmaceutical company where compliance, reputation management and the highest ethical standards are at the heart of our values
• Strong leadership and collaboration skills, including demonstrated ability to spot & develop talent, build Procurement teams and empower others to accomplish individual and organizational objectives
• Minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in indirect procurement, vendor management, and strategic sourcing with deep expertise in Information Technology, including but not limited to: IT Services, Manufacturing, Software, Hardware, Telecom & Data Centers.
· Deep experience with an IT spend portfolio is required
· Individual contributor role with possibility of growing into managing small team.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed; however this role does not requires extensive travel.
• Demonstrates successful track-record of driving performance across a complex matrix within a global enterprise and has the ability to influence and optimize operating models for his/her functional area
• Ability to influence strategically, solve problems using conceptual and analytical thinking and constructively work through conflict
• Strong influencing skills, including being able to operate at Executive levels within the organization
• Analytical and data-driven mindset, proven experience in market benchmarking
• Usage/familiarity of AI in procurement is described

Flexibility for U Program: Hybrid Model
Flexible schedule: Monday-Thursday 7-10 to 16-19h and Friday 8-15h (with the same flexible start time).
