Summary

Provide tactical leadership to the division in the areas of business development, business analysis and planning, financial and asset management, human resource development and support a compliance and quality environment.  Develop, oversee and maintain the processes to support the vision, mission and goals of the company.

 

Job Description

  1. Assist Leadership in creating and maintaining appropriate organizational environment and value system, which stimulates the morale and productivity of the facilities in the assigned region.
  2. Assist Leadership in providing tactical direction and planning and customer focus for the facilities in the assigned region.
  3. Maintain knowledge of relevant regulations, internal company policies and procedures, and stay informed of external events that could affect the organization and its future operation.
  4. Monitor and evaluate operation of facilities with Centre Leadership  to ensure that facilities are in full compliance with Provincial,  Health Canada, and where required, FDA regulations, Standard Operating Procedures, Occupational Health and Safety, cGMP, internal company policies, in-process controls, and feedback to the Associate Director of Operations that is relevant and timely.
  5. Maintain open and positive lines of communication with Centre Leadership and other Leadership.
  6. Provide regular on-site support to centres; mentoring to center leadership and operational staff.
  7. Assist Centre Leadership with technical and administrative questions.
  8. Maintain all skills and flexibility necessary to manage a donor centre in the absence of Centre Leadership.
  9. Assist Centre Leadership in any necessary tasks in pursuit of company objectives.
  10. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

EDUCATION:     

A Bachelor’s degree in Business or science-related field required. 

 

EXPERIENCE:    

Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related work experience in operations, business development, facilities management and infrastructure management, project management, including experience managing a staff across multiple disciplines and remote sites

 

EQUIVALENCY:

Depending on the area of assignment, directly related experience or a combination of directly related education and experience and/or competencies may be considered in place of the stated requirements.  Example: If a job level requires a bachelor’s degree plus 4 years of experience, an equivalency would include 8 years of experience, an associate degree with 6 years.

Occupational Demands:  May be exposed to short periods of time in freezing temperatures. Limited occupational exposure to blood borne pathogens. Ability to travel via automobile, airplane and/or other ground transportation frequently. Work is performed in a plasma
centre. Exposure to biological fluids with potential exposure to infectious organisms. Exposure to electrical office and laboratory equipment. Personal protective equipment required such as protective eyewear, garments, gloves and cold gear. Work is performed sitting or standing for entire shift, bending and twisting neck and waist for 1-2 hours per day. Frequent hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists. Ability to make precise coordinated movements, of the fingers to grasp and manipulate objects. Frequent foot movement: may infrequently squat, crouch or sit on one's heels. Light lifting of 15lbs. with a maximum lift of 50lbs. May reach below shoulder height. Hearing acuity essential. Color perception/discrimination, near vision and far vision correctable in one eye to 20/30 and to 20/100 in the other eye. Able to comprehend and follow instructions to complete assigned tasks. Must possess the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. Must perform within the guidance of both oral and written instructions. Performs a wide range of complex tasks as dictated by variable demands and changing conditions with little predictability as to their occurrence. Relates sensitive information to diverse groups.
