The Marketing Communications Manager is an Individual Contributor, based in Raleigh, NC and will focus to provide global marketing leadership for our Diagnostics portfolio as well regional support for the US specific tactics. This role is part of our global Diagnostic Marketing Team and reports directly to the Senior Director Customer Engagement. The Marketing Communication Manager creates, implements, and leads multimedia communications, strategic conferences, and programs worldwide that effectively promote our organization and its products. A result-oriented mindset and self-drive is beneficial, as well as affinity to digital marketing and event planning.

Your primary responsibilities:

  • Manages digital marketing communications projects as part of the Annual Customer Marketing Plans.

  • Works closely with Product Marketing and Customer Marketing to develop compelling unique selling proposition to drive Diagnostics business growth.

  • Manages tradeshows, and all associated customer events for NA commercial regions.

  • Assist in managing customer events.

  • Responsible for establishing, owning and stewarding strong Diagnostics and product brands and enforcing consistent brand implementation throughout all commercial materials

  • Direct design agencies and supervise their work. Drive vendor selection and manage relationships with outside vendors

  • Monitor and report on effectiveness of marketing communications define metrics/KPIs and provide strategic analysis to evaluate effectiveness of campaigns, programs and events.

  • Establish and drive effective internal communications to ensure that all relevant company functions are kept informed of marketing communications objectives on a global basis

  • May be requested to manage marketing projects outside of marcom as required to achieve regional financial objectives.

About you:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities we are looking for

  • Experience working with cross functional team in a matrix environment 

  • Experience with developing promotional material with agency partners 

  • Experience developing and implementing product brand guidelines 

  • Working knowledge of digital marketing development  

  • Working knowledge of website analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics)

  • Excellent planning, organizational, project management and vendor management skills

  • Demonstrated problem solving, adaptability, communication and collaborative skills are necessary. 

  • Ability to summarize and present data/information succinctly and briefly

  • Strong communications skills to effectively interface with all levels of the organization

  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders 

  • Ideal candidate can identify target audiences and develop digital campaigns that engage, inform and motivate 

Education and Experience we require for this role

  • Bachelor’s degree in life Science or Marketing, preferably Masters degree 
  • 5 years’ work experience 
  • Event planning and digital marketing experience preferred

 

Equivalency

Depending on area of assignment, directly related experience or a combination of directly related education and experience and/or competencies may be considered in place of the stated requirements. Example: If a job level requires a bachelor’s degree plus 4 years of experience, an equivalence could include 8 years of experience, an Associate’s degree with 6 years of experience, or a Masters’ degree with 2 years of experience.

 

Occupational Demand

Work is performed in an office environment with exposure to electrical office equipment. Frequently sits for 6-8 hours per day. Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists.   Frequently walks. Occasionally bends and twists neck.  Light to moderate lifting and carrying objects with a maximum lift of 30lbs. Frequently drives to site locations with occasional travel within the United States. Able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand; with the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.  Interacts with others, relates sensitive information to diverse groups.
