Summary:

 

The VP, Biopharma Strategy & Project Planning will report directly into the President of BioPharma and be a key member of the Grifols Biopharma Division Leadership Team (BPLT).  Incumbent will work closely with all members of the BPLT and other key senior leaders and stakeholders across GRIFOLS to drive and execute strategic projects,  identify, develop, and implement cross functional initiatives to support the BioPharma business strategy

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

 

●Serves as a strategist, consultant and implementer for the Biopharma President

●Identify, develop, and implement cross functional initiatives to support the BioPharma business strategy and plans

●Drive and execute strategic projects, combining external insights and internal thinking to propose appropriate operational and administrative activities

●Conduct and lead special assignments on behalf of the President which may include companywide strategic initiatives, industry analysis, relationship building with key stakeholders

●Lead Biopharma Leadership Team (BPLT) meetings: Determining discussion topics, driving meeting flow and decision making and ensuring follow up actions

●Ensure timeline reporting to various Boards and Committees and CEO office

●Design and drive effective overall planning framework for the BioPharma organization, including specific deadlines, deliverables roles and approval requirements

●Provide proactive strategic oversight and direction and ensure plans are adjusted as organizational priorities change and are clearly communicated across the company

●Prepare content for presentations for President and BPLT (or all internal external presentations including the Board of Directors)

●Drive organizational alignment to company priorities, strategy development, scorecard management, planning, budgeting coordination, strategic initiatives and relevant communications

●Support President on key deliverables

●Work with related functions to ensure strategic coordination across the organization. At times, external relationships will include interactions with various vendors and consultants based on the needs of special projects or programs, both locally and internationally; position requires frequent interaction and collaboration with the President of BioPharma and always requires the person to maintain confidentiality where required;  Travel 20 - 30%

  • Bachelors + 15 years (or Masters + 12) progressive business analysis, strategic planning, finance, marketing or related commercial experience within the pharmaceutical industry; MBA preferred
  • Proven abilities in strategy development, market analysis, launch execution and strategy implementation
  • Ability to effectively plan, prioritize, execute and follow-up in a timely manner and anticipate problems or roadblocks
  • Ability to work with highest level of management at GRIFOLS and be part of the BPLT
  • Demonstrated ability to work directly with President on a regular basis or other senior executives or colleagues on matters of high importance
  • Excellent track record of project management, with the ability to work across all functions with all levels of stakeholders both locally and internationally
  • Excellent written and oral communication and good interpersonal skills
  • High standards of ethics and high standard of personal integrity
  • Bilingual English and Spanish a plus
  • Depending on the area of assignment, directly related experience or a combination of directly related education and experience and/or competencies may be considered in place of the staged requirements. Work is performed in an office environment with exposure to electrical office equipment. Frequently sits for 6-8 hours per day. Frequent hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists.   Occasionally walks. Occasionally bends and twists neck.  Light to moderate lifting and carrying objects with a maximum lift of 25lbs. Frequently drives to site locations, frequently travels within the United States, occasional international travel.  Able to communicate complex information and ideas so others will understand; with the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. Frequently interacts with others, relates sensitive information to diverse groups. Ability to apply abstract principles to solve complex conceptual issues. Performs a wide range of complex tasks as dictated by variable demands and changing conditions with little predictability as to the occurrence.

 

Pay scale of $250K - $350K, depending on credentials and experience.  This position is eligible to participate in up to 35% of the company bonus pool.  We offer benefits including medical, PTO, up to 5% 401K match, and tuition reimbursement.
