Summary:

Provide Strategic Sourcing support for Grifols US locations’ technical and complex service agreements, negotiations, general contracting, facilities, and IT supported responsibilities and to represent these constituencies in the development and implementation of regional and global sourcing initiatives.

 

Primary responsibilities for role:

  • Categories: OPEX/CAPEX Indirect: Clinical, Marketing, Facilities, R&D, Supply Chain
  • Perform data/spend analysis to develop and drive Grifols U.S. category management strategy and track savings, compliance, SoX
  • Provide input to and support the implementation of national cross-sector, regional and global sourcing initiatives including management of local compliance
  • Collaborate with global organization, U.S. sites and global project teams to execute cross- strategic projects and to identify opportunities to leverage spend within Grifols and associated resources to maximize benefits to all impacted sites
  • Build, document and continuously update/maintain local market and product knowledge in assigned categories and act as lead sourcing expert to quantify savings opportunities
  • Manage buyer team to ensure R2P, SoX, Policy, and compliances are delivered
  • Support improvements of procurement initiatives such as Supplier Information Management, SAP, and Req to Pay.
  • Negotiate/re-negotiate national and local contracts for complex goods and services
  • Conduct competitive bid processes using eSourcing functionality, develop vendor recommendations based on analysis of data and manage approval process through all levels of authorization
  • Review commercial terms and recommend action liaise with Law and Insurance departments in the resolution of risk issues
  • Qualify, select and manage key suppliers and service provider relationships as required, and aggressively promote use of Preferred Providers and Strategies Partners
  • Conduct ongoing Procurement training for end users, management and vendors
  • Implement a continuous improvement cycle to realize year on year incremental improvements and cost savings.
  • Manage and resolve supplier performance risks and issues on a timely basis to end user satisfaction
  • Work with Business Partners and Procurement Colleagues to leverage spend with cross-divisional networks and resources to maximize benefits to all impacted sites
  • Provide end user support on Req to Pay, SAP, RFP, RFI, and Supplier recommendations.

 

Education:

BA/BS at a minimum required; MBA desirable

 

Experience:

  • 8 years’ procurement experience
  • 2 years’ experience required within capital projects (lab and bio-manufacturing equipment) preferably in GMP/biotech or similar environment or experience with procuring complex products and services
  • Strong preference for CPSM, CIPS or similar professional qualification.
  • Knowledge of direct materials, and facility services a plus

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of direct materials, including packaging, warehousing and logistics is a plus.  
  • Networking skills – Ability to identify key stakeholders and influence peers
  • Negotiations – Ability to construct negotiation strategies, lead or participate in negotiations of varying complexity
  • Communication Skills – Respond effectively to business partner needs and requests in timely manner
  • Project management  - Organizational skills to initiate, coordinate , drive and implement projects to successful completion
  • Business Acumen – Understands business requirements and needs of management
  • Time Management – Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently
  • Third Party - Supplier Relationship Management Skills
  • Analytical Skills – Ability to use advanced functionality in Microsoft Excel (i.e., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.) to analyze spend

 

Equivalency:

Depending on the area of assignment, directly related experience or a combination of directly related education and experience and/or competencies may be considered in place of the stated requirements.  Example:  If a job level requires a Bachelor’s degree plus 4 years of experience, an equivalency could include 8 years of experience, an Associate’s degree with 6 years of experience, or a Master’s degree with 2 years of experience.
