Summary:

Ensures the effective marketing of assigned existing and pipeline Grifols Plasma products by leading organization to develop US plasma procurement marketing strategy and plans to attain sales and profit targets. Responsible for new donor acquisition and building loyalty with return donors. Leads oversight of product launches, established product growth and lifecycle management of products.  Manages individuals responsible for different products or functions within the therapeutic group.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Sets strategy for the therapeutic group.  Directs the marketing plans, budgets, programs, and objectives.  Responsible for forecasts.  Recommends new product development, product improvement, or product discontinuations.
  • Directs the creation of US sales materials.
  • Directs the development and dissemination of sales materials.  Provides basic policy, standards, and guidelines for communication of such information in US market areas.
  • Achieves on or above budget performance by monitoring performance against the budget in all areas of marketing.  Attracts, develops, and retains a motivated, competent marketing staff and prepare staff to meet the current and future needs of the business.
  • Communicates regularly with other departments to align objectives and ensure that Grifols is meeting the customers' current and future needs.
  • Serves as the primary liaison with Global Marketing to ensure alignment of marketing and product development efforts
  • Manages Grifols relationships with channel partners, patient groups, and other business associates at the national level.
  • Evaluates new lead candidates for products for development for commercial potential for assigned product group and markets; oversees the project management of the product development phase. Develops metrics for success, sharing best practice information across regions.        

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of sales and marketing preferably within the plasma industry (retail, service, health, hospitality, etc. backgrounds also acceptable)
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.  
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to implement change within the organization.     

 

Education and Experience:                       

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Science, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience, including experience managing a staff.
  • Ability to travel ~30% to visit plasma donation centers

 

 

Work is performed in an office environment with exposure to electrical office equipment. Frequently sits for 6-8 hours per day. Frequent hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists.   Occasionally walks. Occasionally bends and twists neck.  Light to moderate lifting and carrying objects with a maximum lift of 25lbs. Frequently drives to site locations, frequently travels within the United States, occasional international travel.  Able to communicate complex information and ideas so others will understand; with the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. Frequently interacts with others, relates sensitive information to diverse groups. Ability to apply abstract principles to solve complex conceptual issues. Performs a wide range of complex tasks as dictated by variable demands and changing conditions with little predictability as to the occurrence.
