The Manager, Government Pricing will be responsible for performing rebate and contract price forecasting for federal and state government programs  managed by Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services ("CMS") (e.g. Medicaid (Average Manufacturing Price ("AMP"), Best Price ("BP"), Unit Rebate Amount ("URA"), state reporting), Medicare Part B (Average Selling Price ("ASP")), the Office of Pharmacy Affairs (e.g., Public Health Service ("PHS")), and Veteran Affairs (e.g., Non-Federal Average Manufacturing Price ("NFAMP"), Federal Ceiling Price ("FCP"), Federal Supply Schedule ("FSS"), TRICARE, and Industrial Funding Fee ("IFF")). The Manager, Government Pricing must have the ability to respond to a high volume of work with a great level of intensity, they must ensure forecasted government rebates and contract prices are performed accurately and in a timely manner, and products and prices must be submitted to states in accordance with governing laws and within the mandated timelines. This role is dynamic in nature due to the evolving legislative and legal environments; therefore, it requires a strong ability to respond to change and a need for perpetual reprioritization to satisfy the demands of a rapidly changing internal and external environment.


Note: Preferred office location is RTP, NC headquarters but Grifols will consider candidates based remotely if permanent residence is outside NC.


Primary responsibilities:

• Responsible for performing forecasting for government rebates and contract prices in accordance with Grifols methodology, standard operating procedures ("SOP"), work instructions, business needs, and governing rules and guidelines; must have an in-depth understanding of reasonable assumptions, methodologies, and policies.

• Serve as subject matter expert and primary resource for government price forecasting and state price reporting.                                                     

• Builds and manages all forecasting models and recommends/performs enhancements in to order to reduce gaps between forecasted and actual government contract prices and rebates while ensuring compliance and business needs are met.                                                           

• Responsible for the timely submission of product and price reporting to states in accordance with Grifols methodology, standard operating procedures ("SOP"), work instructions, and governing rules and guidelines.                                                           

• Ensures forecasted government contract prices and rebates align with the state and federal regulations controlling government price calculations and Grifols pricing and marketing strategies.                                                

• Responsible for root cause analysis for forecasted government rebates and contract price changes and presenting findings to senior management.                                                           

• Maintains knowledge and understanding of the laws, regulations, and policies that pertain to the organizational business unit and conforms with these laws, regulations, and policies in carrying out the accountability of the job; communicates the impact of legislative and guidance changes to internal stakeholders (e.g. team members, management).                                                          

• Acts as a backup for other area leaders in the Government Pricing department and provides full support to each area and team.                              

• Manages changes in the revenue management/government pricing system and ensures these are performed accurately and in accordance with internal policies and governing laws        .                                              

• Responsible for the review and accuracy of third-party data analysis, conversion, and upload into the revenue management/government pricing system.                                               

• Develops and maintains strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate the exchange of key information, understands and addresses needs, and clarifies contractual obligations.                                                  

• Manages and reviews forecasting reports; ensures the reports are disseminated to the corresponding stakeholders.                                   

• Exhibits an extraordinarily high attention to detail and organization with a high degree of follow up & follow through as necessary to meet strict deadlines.                                              

• Ensures supporting documentation and data for internal and external audits is provided within set guidelines and deadlines.                                    

• Responsible for ensuring forecasting policies, standard operating procedures ("SOP"), work instructions, and other documents are updated and consistent with state and federal regulations.                                                           

• Assists with the maintenance of the Veterans Affairs ("VA") Federal Supply Schedule ("FSS") contract and prepares, reviews, and/or submits Request For Modifications ("RFM") forms.                                                           

• Responsible for updating the Director, Government Pricing when there are changes related to government contract price and rebates forecasting, state price reporting, etc.                                                      

• Participates in system upgrades, enhancements, and patches and performs system updates.         



Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Must have strong knowledge of state and federal rules and regulations governing the Government Pricing area (e.g. Medicaid, Medicare, Veterans Affairs, Public Health Service, etc.).

• Must have previous experience with rebate and contract price forecasting.

• Must have experience with performing government price calculations in the Model N (f.k.a. Revitas) Flex GP system.

• Experience working with 5i products is preferred but not required.

• Must be able to perform their duties independently and without routine supervision.

• Must be diplomatic, persuasive and able to establish a good rapport with a full spectrum of internal and external partners.

• Advanced working knowledge with Microsoft Office products is required.

• Strong interpersonal and oral/written communication skills are required     .                                                                                                   

• Has the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously, with strong attention to detail, while meeting strict deadlines.

• Excellent planning and time management skills.

• Must be able to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.

• Strong analytical and project management skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret and use data in problem solving and process improvement.

• Health care business acumen with a comprehensive understanding of the pharmaceutical industry.



Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or other relevant fields is required.



Must have 10+ years of related experience with 8+ years in the pharmaceutical industry, preferably in the government pricing area


Work is performed in an office environment with exposure to electrical office equipment. Frequently sits for 6-8 hours per day. Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists.   Occasionally walks and stands. Occasionally bends and twists neck.  Light to moderate lifting and carrying objects with a maximum lift of 25lbs. Frequently drives to site locations with occasional travel within the United States. Able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand; with the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken and written words and sentences.  Interacts with others, relates sensitive information to diverse groups. Must work with diverse groups to obtain consensus on issues.
