The Manager, Learning Systems (LS) will be responsible for overseeing the management, administration and integration of all educational technology systems. Leverages tools and technologies appropriate for a variety of learning delivery methods for face-to-face classroom instruction, simulation based skills training, e-Learning, webcasts, webinars, audiocasts, podcasts, vodcasts, mobile learning and/or blended course strategies.

 

  • Manage and ensure full capability and compatibility of all new and existing learning and knowledge sharing systems, tools, and integrations, including mobile environments.
  • Partner with stakeholders internally and within our client organization to transfer business knowledge into learning solutions.
  • Coordinate with curriculum, assessment, and instructional design teams and subject matter experts to gather system/platform technical requirements, determine functional and reporting design needs, and ensure a successful user experience and support achievement of desired learning outcomes.
  • Lead and mentor the LS team and support the development of all of the organization’s employees.
  • Establish a culture of continuous improvement within LS using outcome based evaluations to continuously evaluate the effectiveness and return on investment of technology based training programs.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to identify and understand their learning and development needs to assure the business objectives of GPO are met.
  • Work directly with cross-functional system owners in IT, human resources, and other parts of the organization to create and maintain integration points for full system functionality.
  • Stay current on developments with online learning technologies to drive innovative and improved services.
  • Oversee the day-to-day management of the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) including alterations to course sites, user accounts, content publishing, etc.
  • Make recommendations to ensure performance outcomes are identified and integrated into learning outcomes.
  • Oversee the implementation of all upgrades to systems, ensuring all stakeholders are aware of changes and the impact on their use of the VLE.
  • Monitor the technology landscape for emerging technologies, educational theories and other aspects which may be of interest to the organization.
  • Manage vendor and partner relationships ensuring the highest quality standards are met.
  • Assist with the design, editing and maintenance of the content on the VLE to assist L&I staff in maintaining high quality levels and meeting usability and accessibility standards.
  • Maintains all learning systems to ensure compliance with State and Federal regulations, EMA, the FDA approved Standard Operating Procedure manual, OSHA, CLIA, cGMP and customer requirements.

 

Education and Experience 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Technology, Instructional Systems Design, Training and Development, Educational Technology, or related field.
  • Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience, including experience managing a staff.  
  • Ability to develop a vision for adopting emerging educational technologies that address teaching and learning needs for GPO. Ability to plan, direct, implement and evaluate learning technology programs. Knowledge of current practices in the administration of technology based learning systems. Experience working with major enterprise-wide learning management system (LMS) platforms and familiarity with LMS requirements. Experience managing data migration, creating interfaces with an LMS and performing quality testing, and maintenance for ensuring the ideal end-user experience. Demonstrated experience managing teams and working cross-functionally with other technical and non-technical teams. Strong presentation, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to maintain a customer focus and achieve learning goals. Ability to manage, synthesize, and communicate complex information.
