Position Overview:

The Healthcare Compliance Specialist supports the North American Healthcare Compliance program.  The Specialist will be primarily focused on the implementation of Grifols’ anti-corruption program; however, he or she will support a range of international and North American compliance activities.  The Specialist will partner with key stakeholders globally and serve as a resource to address business and compliance issues as they arise.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Conduct due diligence assessments for risk mitigation and business decision making on global third parties (companies and individual partners)
  • Recognize, record, and resolve due diligence red flags
  • Compose due diligence reports
  • Conduct annual compliance assessment and close out of third party providers
  • Monitor and audit on-going third party compliance activities and deliverables
  • Participate in and contribute to risk assessments
  • Support compliance process development, documentation, and implementation
  • Support compliance monitoring and auditing program
  • Support AdHoc healthcare compliance projects

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2 years’ experience, or equivalent combination of education & experience
  • Healthcare compliance experience preferred
  • Strong ethics, concern for standards, and desire to help others do the right thing
  • Ability to conduct audits with guidance preferred
  • Familiarity with US and international anti-corruption laws and regulations preferred
  • Familiarity with US healthcare compliance laws and regulations preferred
  • Exposure to US and international commercial operations preferred
  • Understands the purpose and components of presentations and is able to develop a presentation and present to a small group
  • Ability to deliver basic training live or electronically
  • Ability to draft basic policies and procedures with guidance
  • Ability to support investigations with guidance
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to identify risks and analyze data for patterns and inconsistencies
  • Demonstrates leadership skills and interest
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization and with partners around the globe

Work is performed in an office environment with exposure to electrical office equipment. Frequently sits for 6-8 hours per day. Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists.   Frequently walks. Occasionally bends and twists neck.  Light to moderate lifting and carrying objects with a maximum lift of 25lbs. Frequently drives to site locations and frequently travels within the United States.  Able to communicate complex information and ideas so others will understand; with the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. Frequently interacts with others, relates sensitive information to diverse groups. Ability to apply abstract principles to solve complex conceptual issues. Performs a wide range of complex tasks as dictated by variable demands and changing conditions with little predictability as to the occurrence.
