Summary:
The Donor Compensation Manager will support the organization’s decision-making regarding Donor Compensation Commitments. This is a new role in the marketing organization and will be closely aligned with teams leading Donor Acquisition and Retention efforts. The Donor Compensation Manager plans, develops and implements new and revised compensation programs, policies, and procedures that align with the company's plasma goals and competitive practices. This position is also responsible for ensuring that donor compensation programs are consistently administered in compliance with internal policies and federal/state/local regulations. The Donor Compensation Manager works closely with Grifols marketing teams and Grifols executive leadership to help achieve acquisition and profitability goals. This person must have a strong understanding of the industry, advanced analytic skills (including predictive modeling), and the ability to communicate difficult concepts in a simple, concise fashion. The skills required for this role are strong analytical thinking, proficient communication (written and oral) skills, demonstrated ability to derive business value out of complex data/models to create significant change, ability to adopt/apply automated/machine learning tools, and an entrepreneurial spirit—passion to innovate.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Build an Optimized Compensation Strategy - Though plasma donation is not a retail business, attracting/retaining donors requires a retail orientation. Sophisticated retailers are using tools to optimize revenue with pricing offers personalized to an individual shopper. The DCC (Donor Compensation Commitment) Manager will build approaches to optimize Grifols profitability via intelligent pricing strategies, and shift those strategies based on changing market conditions. This will include testing targeted
- Power real-time decision making - Competition for donors is intense, donors are constantly barraged with new offers. And naturally most donors are searching for ways to maximize their compensation. The DCC Manager will build a base of knowledge and automated tools that enable the organization to quickly assess/model the impact of competitor behavior and possible changes to Grifols DCC offers. Ideally this “real-time” capability will also consider macro-economic trends (e.g., price inflation) that are likely to affect donor response.
- Provide Real-Time Views of Investment Impact - The DCC Manager will partner with Marketing Analytics and Operations to report on the impact of changing incentives on donor frequency/volumes. These reports will include dashboard views at the enterprise, regional and local levels, as well as recommendations to improve impact and/or profitability.
- Automate Donor Compensation Decisions - Ultimately Grifols believes machine-learning supported systems can optimize spend, reduce execution risk, and improve donor experience. The DCC Manager will partner with Marketing Technology and IT to architect an intelligent DCC platform. This will include a business case, a capabilities roadmap, and proposed investment/timing.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Deep experience in building personalized pricing programs in retail, travel/hospitality, or financial services. Strong familiarity with customer analytics, loyalty programs, price optimization, and price promotion. Familiarity with pricing technology platforms as part of the organization’s marketing stack. Ability to use statistical modeling to predict outcomes based on proposed compensation schema. Collaboration with executive/business unit leadership to align business priorities with compensation approaches. Develop abilities to make data-driven decisions in a fast-moving environment.
- Courage to question traditional donor compensation practices historically used by Grifols.
- Obsession with insights about donors, prospects, and Grifols business. Successful candidates will be able to apply performance-marketing best practices to help Grifols advance its business goals.
- Familiarity with a fail-fast orientation to testing/optimizing innovative marketing approaches
- Willingness to accept accountability for marketing’s impact on organization results.
- Advanced skills with SQL and knowledge of statistical programming languages (Python/R)
- Demonstrated ability to derive business value out of complex data/models to create significant change within an organization
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in marketing science, data analytics or related field.
- 7+ years leading pricing and/or loyalty programs at a Fortune 1000 retailer, financial services, or travel/hospitality organization. Industry (client-side) experience is strongly preferred.
