Position Overview:

Reporting to the Director, Commercial Controlling will be responsible for managing and monitoring all commercial contracts and strategic agreements with the Company’s Distributors, Wholesalers, GPOs, Specialty Pharmacies, Home Health Care companies and Managed Care organizations etc. The role will provide support to various functional areas including Sales, Marketing, Managed Markets and Finance in terms of financial and operational analyses. Perform strategic and financial analysis on all contract proposals and present to Senior Management.  Position requires an organized, detail oriented and a strategic team player with a strong ability to manage a diverse number of agreements and multi task.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:


● Review, manage and control all commercial contracts & strategic agreements. Provide recommendations in terms of contract language, operations & financials

● Collaborate on pricing models, financial analysis and ASP projections for all brands and COTs

● Liaison between Commercial Finance, Managed Markets, Legal, Marketing and external parties (i.e. Distributors, Wholesaler, GPOs and Specialty Pharmacies) in terms of daily operations and contract management

● Manage and ensure Contract and Pricing Management policies and procedures are followed

● Perform financial analyses, organize agendas and run the Contract Review Meeting and Contract Review Committee (CRC) meetings. Submit recommendations to Senior Management including all the necessary key details for approval

● Responsible for Pricing Committee submissions including operational & financial analysis. Partner with Government Pricing to understand and include GP impacts in all proposals

● Provide recommendations and guidance in terms of new contract and price group setups in the CARS FLEX Revenue Manager System and coordinate with LA counterpart of resource assessment

● Support Chargeback and Rebate team in LA in terms of Rebates, Fees and Chargebacks setups in the CARS FLEX Revenue Manager System

● Understand contract / pricing practices / models and key contracts for each business unit

● Leverage data to provide strategic insights into financial trends and business value drivers

● Support contracting efforts through the evaluation of operational implications of contracting changes

● Develop business proposals as requested that are designed to stimulate demand of Grifols product portfolio

● Generate contract commitment tracking reports and circulate to ensure contract value is optimized and contract terms adhered to

● Establish accurate maintenance of direct and indirect pricing records for all customers / COTs within the CARS FLEX System to ensure timely communications to internal and external stakeholders

● Responsible for internal & external audit process related with contract, pricing and price group set up within the CARS FLEX System

● Overseeing the class of trade assignment and membership management within the CARS FLEX system and coordinate with the Government Pricing team in terms of COT assignment grid

● Ensure Company's contracting systems are efficient, effective, and maximize return on rebate/discounted invested

● Manage and develop team members

● Responsible for audit processes (Internal & External)

● Assist with special projects as required and assigned

● Develop relationships with business unit personnel

● Bachelor's required (Finance & Accounting preferred); Master’s degree a plus

● 10+ years of experience; with minimum 5+ years of experience working in a pharmaceutical company & 3-5+ years of Gross To Net experience (Advance)

● Ability to analyze revenue and deduction drivers

● Ability to build and maintain financial models

● Understanding of drivers / events affecting the pharma industry

● Staying up to date on best practices in GTN modeling / forecasting

● Prior experience analyzing pharma profit & loss statements

● Effective presentation, written and verbal communication skills

● Strong understanding of pharmaceutical industry and specific requirements around gross-to-net accounting

● Strong time management, organizational / planning skills

● Ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines; self-motivated with a sense of urgency

● Willing to work after hours, if necessary, around the fiscal close or to finish important, large projects

● Adaptable, strong team player with outstanding communication skills and ability to work with all functional areas

Work is performed in an office environment with exposure to electrical office equipment. Frequently sits for 6-8 hours per day. Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists.   Occasionally walks. Occasionally bends and twists neck. Light to moderate lifting and carrying objects with a maximum lift of 25lbs. Frequently drives to site locations with occasional travel within the United States. Able to communicate complex information and ideas so others will understand; with the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. Works independently with little guidance or reliance on oral or written instructions and plans work schedules to meet goals. Frequently interacts with others, relates sensitive information to diverse groups. Must work with diverse groups to obtain consensus on issues. Ability to apply abstract principles to solve complex conceptual issues
