Purpose & Responsibilities of Position:
The Bioanalytics Intern will have the opportunity to learn more about how the Analytical Operations testing team ties into and supports its business partners and customers in CMC Product Development, Manufacturing and Quality. The Intern will aid and be trained on how to evaluate and qualify new sample matrices for characterization of proteins using infrared immunonephelometry.
- Work in a laboratory setting using standard operation procedures (SOPs), analytical instruments, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Learn how sample background components (matrix) influence accurate detection and quantification of target proteins.
- Execute matrix spiking studies using a known amount of the target protein to calculate recovery.
- Apply data analysis to determine any matrix effects and interpret results.
- Communicate data discoveries and analysis in impactful presentations.

- Candidate must be currently enrolled in 4-year degree program pursuing Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field (Biology/Chemistry/Biochemistry preferred) as rising junior or senior OR currently accepted or enrolled in Master’s or PhD program.
- Candidate must currently have GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Proficiency in basic laboratory techniques including pipetting, use of analytical instruments, preparation of laboratory solutions and laboratory safety awareness.
- Ability to conduct literature and laboratory searches, read and follow laboratory procedures, and document work clearly in a laboratory notebook.
- Familiarity and comfort with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
