Employee Relations Coordinator
This position is a home/remote based
This position is responsible for supporting the Employee Relations Department (Employee Relations Service Center), Unemployment Department, and Compliance Department. Primarily responsible for case management of Employee Relations and Unemployment claims. The ER Coordinator will intake, triage and build, investigate and assign cases, as well as follow-up on all Employee Relations matters. The ER Coordinator is also primarily responsible for responding to Unemployment claims in a timely manner, keeping case management databases, reporting metrics, maintaining case files, responding to requests from third parties and the Legal department.
Employee Relations Coordinators are empathetic and objective individuals with great interpersonal skills who can build relationships with employees and business stakeholders. They exercise good judgment and problem-solving skills to regularly resolve conflicts. Friendly and persuasive, Employee Relations Coordinators can be trusted by both employee and employer to work as a liaison who finds solutions to both of their problems while maintaining important confidential information. Moreover, Employee Relations Coordinators will need to have extensive knowledge of employment law and adhere to company and industry regulations at all times.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implement and evaluate all human resource department policies, procedures, and structures.
- Offering counseling and EAP services to employees
- Collecting and analyzing employee data
- Intakes calls to the Employee Relations Service Center, including conducting interviews, providing guidance, and responding to general inquiries.
- Overseeing employee policy query and the Grifols Ethics Hotline.
- Liaising between employees and management.
- Intaking, Assigning, and Managing employee complaints and manager recommendations.
- Respond to Unemployment claims and employees’ queries and resolve issue in a timely and professional manner.
- Taking appropriate disciplinary action against employees who violate rules and regulations and addressing employee grievances.
- Manages the unemployment process for all Grifols’ companies, including ensuring compliance, drafting persuasive responses, meeting all state deadlines, and using judgement and discretion in providing the appropriate information.
- Assists the employment law team in responding to EEOC, DOL, and other legal claims.
- Works with other departments to respond to requests for reports, files, and data.
- Responds to administrative requests from third parties.
- Analyzes data, identifies trends, and provides metrics, including assistance with drafting presentations and other written materials.
- Provides administrative support and other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Associate degree preferred
- 0 - 4 years of related experience
Depending on the area of assignment, directly related experience or a combination of directly related education and/or competencies may be considered in place of the stated requirements. Example: if a job level typically requires an Associate’s degree plus 2 years of experience, an equivalent could include 4 years of experience or a Bachelor's degree.
KNOWLEDGE | SKILLS | ABILITIES
- Strong PC skills, especially with Microsoft Office suite products.
- Ability to work both independently and as a team. Ability to handle deadline-driven responsibilities in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to maintain a high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain the privacy and confidentiality of information viewed.
- Ability to use judgement and persuasive skills in responding to unemployment claims. Commitment to a high level of customer service.
