Intern will be performing the following tasks under the direct supervision of a qualified shift technician:


1.         Supervisor Assigned Tasks:

a.         Perform any additional tasks assigned by your immediate supervisor or the on-shift supervisor.

b.         Support the annual shut downs of all production areas.

c.         Support capital projects.


2.         Uninterrupted Supply of Utilities:

a.         Provide uninterrupted supply of quality utilities to production and other customers.

b.         No interrupted utilities due to operator error.

c.         No ITS's due to operator error.


3.         Regulatory Commitments:

a.         Operate utility equipment within the limits and conditions of our Regulatory Commitments.

b.         No violations of the state air permit.

c.         No violations of the wastewater license.

d.         No violations of the ATF permit.


4.         Support Maintenance & Troubleshooting:

a.         Seek out opportunities to expedite maintenance, eliminate/overcome obstacles.

b.         Perform emergency / breakdown maintenance when required.

c.         Troubleshoot all equipment deficiencies to the extent necessary to determine proper corrective actions. Initiate work requests for failed components.

d.         Support planning and scheduling for maintenance.


5.         Utility Equipment Operation:

a.         Maintain ownership of all Utility Equipment.

b.         Ensure no actions are taken by anyone (including maintenance & engineering) that could adversely affect your equipment.

c.         Responsible for all field operations and emergency maintenance of the following Utility systems; HVAC, Refrigeration, WFI & RO (including pretreatment), Cooling Towers and EVAP Condensers, Peg truck loading, Responsible for all sanitization field operations.

d.         Respond to all PSO Utility alarms and correct / resolve alarm condition.

e.         Inform CRO and Utility supervisor of any condition that cannot be resolved.

f.          Chemical inventories; monitor refrigerant inventories in all systems including Glycol inventories and inform supervisor prior to running out.

g.         Maintain operating equipment and equipment areas in a clean good housekeeping manor to include but not limited to; cleaning, dusting, painting and repair.


6.         Safety:

a.         Operate equipment and perform tasks safely.

b.         Follow all site PSM and RMP policies and procedures. (safe work permit, management of change, etc.).

c.         Complete required PSM, safety and emergency response training.

d.         Respond to all site and Utility Emergencies (Fires, ammonia alarms, etc.).


7.         Training:

a.         Complete required PSM, safety and emergency response training.

b.         All training completed per individual PMP's

c.         Complete all required system and procedure training.

d.         Be 100% compliant by year end for all required training.


8.         Administrative Duties:

a.         Operate utility systems using GMP standards.

b.         Follow approved SOP's while operating systems. In the event an SOP cannot be followed, redline the procedure and inform your supervisor.

c.         Properly complete logbook entries.

d.         Complete all required system and procedure training.

e.         Ensure all evolutions performed are logged in the Logbook.


Must be currently pursuing a Mechanical or Chemical engineering 4 year degree (rising junior or rising senior) with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
