Plasma Material Handling Coordinator

 

2nd Shift M-Th 1:30pm – 12:00am

 

Summary:

 

This position performs leadership functions in the Material Handling Department of the Plasma Logistics Center (PLC.) The incumbent is able to effectively lead teams and coordinate labor according to a production plan, and report results to the department Supervisor. The incumbent receives raw materials (plasma) from donor centers into the Plasma Logistics Center and controls the flow of materials until they are sent for fractionation. As a skilled specialist using the Plasma Management System (SGP), this position supports Supply Chain related projects, provides guidance to peers, and trains/coaches department employees. This position is responsible for controlling raw material inventory throughout receipt, classification, and distribution and is able to handle plasma types from all suppliers, going to all customers.

 

Experience:

 

1. 4+ years’ experience in Manufacturing, Pharmaceutical or other FDA licensed Industry or documented and demonstrated abilities to meet requirements through the department curriculum based qualifications is required.
2. Forklift certification
3. Experience in reading, understanding, and following Standard Operating Procedures

 

Responsibilities:

 

1. Coordinate and distribute daily workload

2. Assist in delegating Plasma Handling Day to Day operations

3. Assist Supervisor in problem solving

4. Support department in the absence of the Supervisor

5. Assist Supervisor with scheduling and overseeing completion of departmental tasks

6. Responsible for unloading plasma shipments, identify and sort types of plasma, and enter receipts into the Plasma Management System (SGP)

7. Accurately inspect and receive ocean containers to ensure compliance and reduce the potential of product damage.

8. Take an active role in training and preparing Material Handlers for SOP qualification

9. Effectively assist with labor, incident, and performance tracking in TEAMs

10. Inspect equipment for damage and determine suitability for further use in production (crates, pallets)

11. Use Radio Frequency Terminal (RFT) equipment to control and monitor the movements of inventory within all freezer and warehouse locations.

12. Locate plasma by verifying and pulling material from freezer work orders

13. Responsible for maintaining CGMP compliance by insuring a high level of cleanliness and organization.

14. Identify SOP deviations and generate Raw Material Reports (RMR)

15.  Assist in monitoring inventory for freezer gear, RFT scanners, and Handheld radios

16. Lead various department safety, strategy and process improvement teams

17. Complete Production Processing work order, plasma reception and lot consolidation documentation

18. Verify and end completed plasma lot settlement folders, ensuring accuracy

19. Accurately prepare documentation for plasma reception and lot consolidation

20. Confirm and perform the delivery function of plasma lots in SGP

21. Identify and remove unsuitable plasma units from processed production units (PU’s) and consolidated lots.

22. Prepare plasma for distribution by Air, Land, and Sea

23. Assist Classification area by managing plasma that is rejected or relocated from the inspection line

24. Run reports from SGP using external reporting system 

25. Help maintain accurate inventory by performing weekly cycle counts to ensure compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX).

26. Accurately label, receive and store donor center archive sample cases

27. Assist in creating or revising standard operating procedures (SOPs)

28. Complies with all company policies/SOPs/cGMP/OSHA/EHS requirements

29. Able to work occasional overtime

 

 

KSAs:

 

1. Knowledge of cGMP.

2. Possess good verbal and written communication skills

3. Possess basic math skills (addition, subtraction, division, multiplication).

4. Ability to multitask in warehouse environment.

5. Possess good organizational skills

 

Education:

 

High School diploma or equivalent.

 

Occupational Demands:

 

1. Effective communication and leadership skills in order to assist in delegating Plasma Handling Day to Day operations
2. Leadership capabilities enabling the coordinator  to support department in absence of Supervisor
3. Able to communicate effectively both verbally and electronically with management and other team members
4. Able to safely and effectively operate a forklift to store plasma in the freezer and transport throughout the warehouse.
5. Able to safely and effectively operate Electric pallet jack/Rider Electric pallet jack
6. Able to repeatedly lift 25 to 50 lbs. throughout the shift
7. Able to work in extreme temperature of -30C or colder
8. Able to work with minimum supervision and follow detailed directions
9. Ability to perform quality work in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities.
10. Ability to interpret and follow written procedures.
11. Capable of performing basic math and computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook)
12. Capable of being cross trained as a Plasma Classification Inspector
13. Able to assist in basic IT equipment set up, maintenance and troubleshooting
