Management of Plasma Logistics Transportation and Receiving functions at the Grifols Plasma Logistics Center in order to provide Grifols Manufacturing and third party production plasma requirements in a timely, operationally and cost effective manner while maintaining a high level of service to our Donor Centers, Trucking partners and our other PLC Departments (QA, Operations, Logistics Planning).

 

Management of the Transportation function and plasma shipping schedules across the Grifols Plasma Center platform

  • Responsible for ensuring centers ship all available plasma to secure supply and meet working capital targets
  • Responsible to ensure route capacity utilization targets are met and operational needs satisfied
  • Primary Operations Liaison available 24/7 to assist centers should logistical emergencies arise (freezer truck etc.)
  • Strategic development of cost reduction / route optimization programs related to transportation logistics

 

Manages the Plasma Receiving function for the Grifols Plasma Logistics Center

  • Ensures truck deliveries are completed on a timely and compliant manner and folders presented to Quality to make the plasma suitable in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Works closely with the other functions within the PLC (Quality, Operations & Logistics Planning) to highlight concerns occurring external to the PLC that may impact internal PLC operations.
  • Ensures all receiving processes follow established SOP's and team members are fully trained and cross trained where appropriate so that inbound activities can be completed in a compliant, timely and prioritized manner.
  • Assist the receiving team in working with IT to resolve data issues that impact receiving operations which impact both existing and new business ventures
  • Directly manages the logistics and receiving teams in a manner that fosters professional growth and development of our team members
  • Works closely with colleagues within Biomat SA and GWWO USA to ensure best practices are in place and synergies are maintained.
  • Report clearly and effectively verbally and through email, power point slides, etc.
  • Responsible for continual initiation, upgrade and review of department Manufacturing Standard Practices (MSPs) and cGMP compliance and training
  • Other special projects as assigned to support department and company objectives

 

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Business/Operations/Supply Chain
  • Five to ten years of experience in supply chain/operations/business planning

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Thorough knowledge of 3rd Party Transportation Providers and our internal inventory systems (ex. SGP, SAP) as well as having a good understanding of the plasma processes and operations at the PLC. A sound understanding of Supply Chain fundamentals in process efficiencies and business and financial controls with an understanding of operational metrics and analytical KPIs.                                                                                                                                              

  • Excellent communication skills, analytical skills, and computer skills (Microsoft Office - Excel, PowerPoint, Access or Discoverer; mainframe ex. DMS, and inventory control systems such as SAP)
  • Solid problem-solving skills are critical, ability to manage unforeseen events and follow through to resolution
  • Ability to work well within a team made up of both internal and external partners and professionals
  • Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills
  • Team leadership and problem resolution skills

 

ADDITIONAL

  • Travel is minimal (1-2 times per quarter)
  • Occasional visits to Warehouse and Freezer Storage Areas and to participate in Grifols Worldwide USA meetings which may be held off site of at another Plasma Logistics Center or office location.
