Position Overview:
Leads the planning, organization, and execution of job assignments necessary to support Grifols leased and owned facilities primarily in Clayton, NC. Contributes to budget development/adherence in defined areas. Coaches and teaches junior members of the department and provides input to performance evaluations. Develops technical, engineering, manufacturing or HES standards/programs. Meets customer needs in support of business goals.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Supervise the day to day activities of internal and external Maintenance personnel in support of various maintenance activities at the sites to ensure proper facility operations.
- Assign priorities of both scheduled and unscheduled work to assure a minimum impact to operations while using the most cost-effective compliant methods.
- Supervise subordinates and contractors to assure compliance with cGMP, cGLP, OSHA, and HES policies and procedures as performed during troubleshooting, calibrations, preventative maintenance, and project activities.
- Supported systems consist of, but are not limited to various mechanical, HVAC, electrical, control, building exterior, and office systems.
- Provide oversight to ensure SOP/PM compliance in accordance with good engineering and Grifols standards.
- Use of SAP procurement, Maximo CMMS, Office Space Planning, CAD, and other business software systems,
- Responds to emergencies during non-routine hours, as needed. Support Clayton, NC manufacturing facility as needed.
- Plans and implements Inclement Weather Response.
- Works with facility colleagues and business-partners to meet their business needs and expectations.
- Implements capital projects including scope development, design, budgeting, permitting, execution, etc.
Additional Responsibilities:
Conforms to established company beliefs and values with integrity. Promotes regulatory compliance. Formulates and manages own career path. Position requires planning and scheduling of Maintenance/Project activities. Planning and maintaining an adequate inventory of critical spare parts is required to assure minimum downtime of critical equipment and systems. Candidate must be available for unscheduled work on short notice and for call-in emergency situations and for consultations as needed. Maintain working contact with other managers, supervisors and administrative assistants in planning and executing work as is necessary to maintain facilities with a minimum of disruption to occupants. Maintain working contact with outside contractors, vendors, technicians, Grifols SME’s to promote team atmosphere. Maintain a working relationship with the Human Resource, Safety, Environmental, Security, and Capital Project, Teams in the exchange of information.

• Bachelor’s Degree, preferably Technical; Professional registration and/or certifications as appropriate
• Minimum of 10 years’ combined experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance, facility management, and project management, with at least 5 of the 10 years in a leadership capacity
• Demonstrates leadership and customer service skills.
• Good written, listening, and verbal communication
• Knowledge and use of Microsoft Office products, Outlook and any applicable systems needed for maintenance and project execution.

Work is performed in an office and/or a laboratory/manufacturing environment. Exposure to biological fluids with potential exposure to infectious organisms. Exposure to electrical office equipment. Exposure to extreme cold below 32*, miscellaneous production chemicals, moving machinery and production equipment. Exposure to high levels of noise on production floor. Personal protective equipment required such as protective eyewear, garments and gloves. Frequently sits for 4-6 hours per day. Frequent hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists. Occasionally walks. Often performs duties standing. Frequently bends and twists neck and waist. Light to moderate lifting and carrying objects with a maximum lift of 35lbs. Frequently drives to other facilities. Able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand; with the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken and written words and sentences. Frequently interacts with others, relates sensitive information to diverse groups.
