Overview:
The Category Leader Associate Director - Filters, Chemicals & Industrial Auxiliary Materialsis the highest authority within the purchasing department for a specific category. This role focuses on developing and overseeing the long-term strategy for the category, ensuring it aligns with the overall business objectives.

 

Key Responsibilities:
•    Develop long-term strategic plans for the category.
•    Ensure alignment of category strategy with business goals.
•    Manage relationships with key suppliers.
•    Identify and capitalize on opportunities for improvement and efficiency.
•    Monitor market trends and adjust strategies accordingly.
•    Lead and mentor the category management team.
•    Develop and manage category budgets.
•    Coordinate with other departments to integrate category strategies.

 

Functions and Tasks:
•    Strategy Development: Formulate and implement category strategies.
•    Supplier Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
•    Market Analysis: Analyze market trends to inform strategic decisions.
•    Performance Monitoring: Track category performance against KPIs.
•    Report Generation: Prepare detailed reports on category performance for senior management.
•    Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and develop contingency plans.
•    Training: Conduct training sessions for team members on best practices and new strategies.

 

Requirements:
•    Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
•    7+ years of experience in category management or procurement.
•    Strong leadership and strategic planning skills.
•    Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
•    Ability to analyze data and market trends.
•    Proficiency in procurement software and reporting tools.
•    Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

 

 

Work is performed in an office environment with exposure to electrical office equipment. Frequently sits for 6-8 hours per day. Frequent hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists.  Frequently walks. Occasionally bends and twists neck.  Light to moderate lifting and carrying objects with a maximum lift of 25lbs. Frequently drives to site locations and frequently travels within the United States.  Able to communicate complex information and ideas so others will understand; with the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. Frequently interacts with others, relates sensitive information to diverse groups. Ability to apply abstract principles to solve complex conceptual issues. Performs a wide range of complex tasks as dictated by variable demands and changing conditions with little predictability as to the occurrence.
