Summer Intern Chemistry (DNA & RNA)

Summary:

Summer internship to provide opportunity to gain hands-on experience and exposure to non-GMP oligo synthesis production to support the development of NAT assays for screening donated blood.   The intern will work closely with R&D oligonucleotide team and primary duties will include, but not limited to synthesis, deprotection, and purification of oligonucleotides, as well as analysis and characterization of oligonucleotide products.                                

 Primary responsibilities for role:

•           Support oligonucleotide production and oligonucleotide characterization

•           Perform optimization, and troubleshooting as needed

•           Keep accurate and up to date records

•           Provide regular updates to scientist

•           Assist in the preparation of written reports

•           Presents results to colleagues at group/scientific meetings

Education:

Finished undergraduate/graduate degree or degree near completion in any applicable science or engineering field with a minimum of two years university experience

Experience:

• Experience working in a laboratory is a plus
• Interest in oligonucleotide chemistry
