The Manager, Commerical Contract Operations is responsible for managing activities in the ogranization's contract operations function associated with gross-to-net impacts including accrual
calculations and reconciliations, monthly and quarterly true-ups, category specific (i.e. Commerical rebates, Charebacks, Government rebates, Service fees) analysis for revenue reductions,
accrual rate analysis and rate set-up in SAP. The role will provide support to various functional areas including Accounting, Managed Markets and Finance in terms of financial and
operational analyses. A succcessful candidate must be organized, detailed oriented and a strategic team player with a strong ability to manage a diverse number of agreements.
Primary responsibilities for role:
● Process Lead for month-end revenue recognition activities, which include accrual calculations for commercial rebates, chargebacks, government rebates, service and GPO Fees and ensure all are supported by company's internal regulations and procedures.
● Understand contract / pricing practices / models and key contracts for each business. Control and maintain an operative system to control and track contracts, agreements, amendments and communications to customers.
● Understand cause and effect relationships related to contract changes within the Model N Flex system; responsible for researching and investigating rebate & fee errors to proactively mitigate systemic issues with programs.
● Liaison between Commercial Finance, Managed Markets, Legal, and external parties (i.e. Distributors) in terms of daily operations and contract management.
● Maintain & calculate accrual rates based on historical trends and other relevant information.
● Lead monthly and quarterly reporting of contractual payment activities, dashboards and trends, support forecasting analyses and ad-hoc requests.
● Ensure all SOX controls are met and supported with appropriate documentation. Participate in and support SOX-related, internal, and external audits.
● Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with customers, stakeholders, peers, cross-functional partners, and direct reports.
● Assist with other duties and ad hoc requests as needed in Commercial Contract Operations' team.

Educational Requirements, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Education: Bachelor of Arts required (Finance & Accounting preferred); Master’s degree preferred
- Experience of 4-6 years of experience in a Finance function in a Pharmaceutical Industry and at least 1+ year of demonstrated prior experience performing Gross to Net functions
● Effective presentation, written and verbal communication skills
● Strong organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills
● Self motivated to learn new concepts and participate in new projects
● Adaptability to competing priorities under tight deadlines and fluid, unstructured environment
● Strong team player with ability to anticipate impacts of workload/issues to team deadlines and very positive work attitude including willing to work some longer hours during peak periods
● Experience in developing Budgets and performing Financial Analysis
Occupational Demands: Work is performed in an office environment with exposure to electrical office equipment. Frequently sits for 6-8 hours per day. Frequent hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists. Occasionally walks. Occasionally bends and twists neck. Light to moderate lifting and carrying objects with a maximum lift of 25lbs. Frequently drives to site locations with occasional travel within the United States. Able to communicate complex information and ideas so others will understand; with the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. Works independently with little guidance or reliance on oral or written instructions and plans work schedules to meet goals. Frequently interacts with others, relates sensitive information to diverse groups. Must work with diverse groups to obtain consensus on issues. Ability to apply abstract principles to solve complex conceptual issues.
The estimated pay scale for Manager, Commercial Contract Operations role based in California, is $124,200.00 to $145,000.00 per year. Additionally, the position is eligible to participate in up to 15% of the company bonus pool. Final compensation packages will ultimately depend on education, experience, skillset, knowledge, where the role is performed, internal equity and market data.
