Job Summary:


Leads Immunoassay development projects. This includes development and verification of immunoassay as a leader of a small team. Design of testing strategies and pre-validation for development of design files. This may include in some cases development, execution and interpretation of scientific research projects pertaining to ELISA, or other proprietary immune platforms and the subsequent testing with clinical panels of relevant samples for infectious diseases or other diseases.


Essential Job Duties:


  • Provides updates to senior management on status of experiments and studies
  • Leads collaboration with internal scientific clients.
  • Leads and carries out characterization of the recombinant proteins.  Independently or with team members, plans research projects requiring initiative and judgment within defined procedures and practices.
  • Independently selects methodological approaches and specific methods to achieve research objectives. 
  • Exercises judgment and initiative in making research project decisions.  Performs experiments in the laboratory, as needed.
  • Identifies, analyzes, and interprets project results. Communicates results to key stakeholders and management. 
  • Collaborates with other scientists, writes original proposals for research projects.  Remains current on pertinent scientific topics. 
  • Prepares written reports on all phases of laboratory experimental projects. 
  • Attends and participates in scientific meetings, seminars and leadership team meetings
  • Presents  research results to colleagues at scientific meetings. 
  • Authors or co-authors scientific papers and /or journal articles and technical reports. 
  • Reviews and edits pertinent regulatory documents. 
  • Prepares and defends patent disclosures and applications.
  • Interacts and or leads collaboration with external collaborators and or CROs.  
  • Partners and collaborates with small teams in a scientific development environment.
    Job Requirements:
  • PhD. degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Microbiology, Biology or other life science field
  • More than 8 years laboratory experience post Ph.D. with immunoassay design (IVDs, LDTs, 510(k) process). (infectious disease research, cancer, autoimmune, other).
  • Subject matter expert in immunoassay development with experience in bringing tests to FDA and / or EU approval.
  • Experience in protein purification antibody  modification,  bio-conjugation and coupling onto solid phases/magnetic particles a plus. 
  • Experience in demonstrating and supervising laboratory staff.
  • Working knowledge of assay validation requirements.
  • Ability to become familiar with relevant scientific literature and represent the research team at meetings and deliver concise scientific presentations.
  • Comfortable with handling biohazardous and infectious samples
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
