The Associate Director will be supporting the Sr. Finance Director Diagnostic Commercial and Consolidation in the improvement, implementation and general maintenance of the finance systems and forward-looking processes that support the Diagnostics Division. Provide dedicated finance support for division consolidation, productivity initiatives, responsible assisting in the preparation of the periodic global latest estimates, annual budgets, strategic planning, and monthly management reporting processes. Other key responsibilities include partnering with global functions, quality improvement, financial analysis, participating in cross functional or multi-department teams, and process improvements.

 

Main responsibilities

 

Financial Planning Process:

  • Identify opportunity to further improve the effectiveness and effeminacy in financial planning process.
  • Lead process improvement projects to drive functional excellence.
  • Coordinate the Division’s financial planning process including period-end closing and reporting, latest estimates, and annual budgets.
  • Prepare management reporting packages that track and monitor ongoing business performance.
  • Analyze risks and opportunities and propose and track roadmap actions to deliver target.
  • Prepare financial analysis to senior management and division including regular and ad hoc requests.
  • Setup and maintain the financial toolboxes such as business case analysis template.
  • Support Sr. Finance Director in daily operation and productivity improvement

 

Financial System:

  • Support Sr. Finance Director on global financial system strategy.
  • Work with regions, IT, other departments, and consultants to implement new financial systems, applications, or functions according to strategy.
  • Coordinate system implementation or process changes with Division BPA.
  • Leverage existing systems and applications in regions / global functions to further automate the reporting and process.
  • Be a financial system expert within finance team and provide training and 1st level support to the global and regional finance team in the Division.

 

Finance Partner to Division global functions such as Division Management, Global Marketing, Customer Experience, and Project Management Office.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent project management experience
  • Good understanding of end-to-end process and controls
  • ERP software experience (preferably SAP, BW)
  • Experience developing and using Excel-based models and conducting quantitative analysis (NPV, IRR)
  • Solid analytical and quantitative skills and ability to design analysis plans using multiple internal and external data sources.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Previous international experience desired
  • Strong interpersonal and team skills a must

Education & Experience:

  • MBA / master’s degree in finance; proven experience in lieu of master’s degree is accepted
  • 8 – 10 years Finance or Accounting experience

 


Depending on the area of assignment, directly related experience or a combination of directly related education and experience and/or competencies may be considered in place of the stated requirements. Example: If a job level requires a bachelor’s degree plus 4 years of experience, an equivalency could include 8 years of experience, an associate degree with 6 years of experience, or a Master’s degree with 2 years of experience.

 

Pay Scale:

The estimated pay scale for the Associate Director role based in Emeryville, is $150,200-220,000 per year. Additionally, the position is eligible to participate in up to 15% of the company bonus pool. Final compensation packages will ultimately depend on education, experience, skillset, knowledge, where the role is performed, internal equity and market data.
